If, like us, you've wanted to really understand what's behind the armour, what it's made of, how it was made, and generally get to grips with some of the 2,500 items in the collection — there's a free lecture with your name on it.
Beneath The Surface — The Scientific Analysis Of Arms And Armour, gives participants the chance to literally get their hands on some of the items on display, as well as learn more about the scientific techniques for analysing armour.
Conservators David Edge, Robert Hill and archaeometallurgist Alan Williams will explain techniques such as Xray, XRF, and metallography at the event, which is part of Science Week.
After learning from the experts, there'll be a chance to get your hands on some 16th century armour.
