A cyclist was taken to hospital by air ambulance after a being hit by a car during rush hour in South London last night.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man in his 20s on a bicycle was hit by a car on Brixton Hill at 17.49pm. The female driver stopped at the scene and was not arrested. The air ambulance landed nearby.
The accident closed Brixton Hill near Dumbarton Road while the emergency services worked at the scene and the man was later taken to hospital by the air ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Brixton Hill remained closed further into the evening as police investigated the circumstances of the collision.
