60 Second Video: HippopoThames

Londonist is really proud of our ever-burgeoning video archive on YouTube. We also realise that sometimes our readers (and viewers) crave a fast fix of Londony goodness, before getting back to that string of unanswered work emails. That's why we're introducing an ongoing series of 60-second videos. Section off a minute of your day, plug in the headphones, and learn something amazing/cool/hilarious/etc about the city you love.

In our first 60-second video we seek out Florentijn Hofman's HippopoThames (pictured above) and speak to Adrian Evans, the director of Totally Thames, about the month-long river festival.

And while we're on the subject, join us (plus a host of experts) aboard HMS President on the weekend of 20-21 September for fascinating talks on everything from the lost rivers of London, to swimming the Thames, to tales from the docks.

If you've got an idea for a 60 second video we should make, tell us in the comments below or email [email protected]
