BRIDGE EXHIBITION: Museum of London Docklands' largest ever art exhibition, Bridge, is open this weekend. It consists of historical and contemporary depictions of London's bridges in the form of artwork, film and photography, and also considers how bridges are used in London today. OPEN WEEKEND: The private Eel Pie Island in Twickenham is a small hidden heaven on the Thames: more than being a nature reserve, the island is home to 26 artists studios all situated in and around a working boatyard. This weekend the island opens to the public who can admire its nature and its studios. Free, just turn up, Saturday and Sunday, 11am-6pm

SCOTTISH FOOD: Scottish food pop-up Dram & Smoke is in Vauxhall for various sittings at the weekend, offering a six-course tasting meal of Scottish food, plus a beer or cocktail on arrival. £40, prebook, Saturday 7.30pm/Sunday 2pm

Bermondsey carnival

NEW DESIGNERS: The first part of the New Designers Fair takes place at the Business Centre in Islington, aimed at design students, but also with family activities today. Free, prebook, From 10am, continues next weekend

BUS GARAGE OPEN DAY: West Ham Bus Garage was designed to replace two Stratford garages closed by the building of the Olympic Park. It's the newest, biggest and greenest bus garage in London and has a rare public open day today. £10/£8, prebook, 9.45am/1pm

KEATS WALK: The ever-popular Keats in Hampstead walking tour returns, guiding walkers through Keats' life in Hampstead, accompanied by readings from his poems. Tickets usually sell out fast, so book quickly. £8/£6, prebook, 11am

FAMILY DAY: The Wallace Collection teams up with RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind) and focuses its family day's activities on experiencing a day in the life of an 18th-century aristocrat. The event is especially for blind and partially sighted children accompanied by their families. Free, prebook by email, 11am-4pm  

ILLUSTRATION FAIR: Spoke is a cycling-themed design and illustration event happening at the CLF Art Cafe in Peckham. The day-long event brings together over 25 British artists, cyclists and design enthusiasts: enjoy a screen printing workshop, an illustration competition and music. Free, just turn up, 11am-5pm

BBC AT WOOLWICH: The BBC's World War One at Home tour comes to Woolwich Royal Artillery Barracks for a day of family activities aimed to teach people about life during the war. Actor Larry Lamb and broadcasted Kate Adie will make appearances. Free, just turn up, 11am-6pm

ABBEVILLE FETE: Head to Abbeville Road in Clapham for a dog show, silent auction, bar, barbecue and all manner of other family-oriented japes. Suggested donation 50p, just turn up, 12pm-4pm

BERMONDSEY CARNIVAL: Takes place in Southwark Park with pop legends Chas 'n' Dave headlining the live music, plus irish dancing, family entertainment, a giant jumble sale, and the Cuming Museum will be displaying its Cabinet of Curiosity. Free, just turn up, 12pm-8pm

CHINGFORD: Live music and dancing, craft fayre, stalls are just a few of the family-friendly things that will happen at the Chingford Village Festival on and around the Green. Free, just turn up, 12-5pm

CHARITY PARTY: Number 90 bar and restaurant in Hackney Wick has a charity party in aid of research into neuromuscular disease. The line-up of DJs will be revealed on the day. £6, prebook, 12pm-11pm

KENTISH TOWN: Kentish Town Festival runs throughout the day and aims to animate the area. Programme includes live poetry and music, community meal and even Zumba. Volunteering opportunities available as well — volunteer by email. Free, just turn up, 12.30pm-6.30pm

GAY PRIDE: Over 20,000 people are expected to take part in this year's Pride in London Parade. The parade begins at Baker Street, heading down Oxford and Regent Street before ending in Whitehall. Take part, or simply watch. As the event coincides with Armed Forces Day, members of the Forces will continue the route to the Cenotaph. Free, just turn up, from 1pm

SCI-FI SCREENING: The British Science Association screens 1956 British sci-fi film The Gamma People at Birkbeck Cinema to mark the start of Birkbeck Science Week. Free, prebook, 6.30pm

ROCKY LIVE: Montages Live sees well-known films screened, with a band playing the soundtrack live. This time, Rocky IV gets the treatment at Earl Haig Hall in Crouch End. Hear classics Eye of the Tiger, No Easy Way Out, Living in America and Hearts on Fire played live and loud. £8, prebook, 7pm

AMY WINEHOUSE FUNDRAISER: Every month, the Amy Winehouse Foundation has a fundraising concert at the Hippodrome Casino. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, and his band will perform, as will several other musicians. £20-£35, prebook, 8pm

London Gay Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 18th birthday.

ROMAN ROAD FESTIVAL: The Roman Road Market in Tower Hamlets kicks off its week-long festival today with a plethora of events. Choose from a Suffragettes trail, stories about Bow or a  nature trail- and that's just todays events. From 10am

DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL: See a proper Chinese Regatta happening at the London Regatta Centre in Royal Albert Dock. The whole-day event includes food stalls, family activities, martial arts displays and traditional Chinese lion dancing. Free, just turn up, 10am-6pm

HOGARTH'S LONDON: Walk in the Steps of Hogarth at this walk by the Foundling Museum, celebrating the 250th anniversary of his death. See where Hogarth was born and lived for the first few years of his life, and his family coffee house. Starts at Henry 8th Gate, St Barts Hospital, West Smithfield. £9/£7, prebook, 11am

SWING PARTY: Head to Poplar's Chrisp Street Market for Swing East: a whole day of swing music, dancing and themed entertainment dated 1940s-1950s. Expect also vintage clothes, records & home wares market and a selection of food stalls. Free, just turn up, 12pm-6pm

ART FILM: Movement is a screening curated by Marina Abramović to coincide with her exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery featuring works by the artist, documentary footage, films selected by Abramović as well as talks and conversations about themes connected to her practice. At Serpentine Cinema at Picturehouse in Notting Hill Gate £8.60-£10.60, prebook, 1pm

FAMILY WORKSHOP: Parasol Unit arts foundation in Angel hosts a family workshop inspired by the work of artist Jimmie Durham and his preoccupation with finding stones whilst walking. Families have a journey around the local area to collect discarded items and turn them into new sculptures. £5 (whole family), prebook, 2.30pm

WILDLIFE FUNDRAISER: Lion conservation charity LionAid has its first fundraising gig at The Boston Arms in Turnell Park. The line-up of bands includes The Ded Hot Chilli Peppers and Robbie Fox, plus a charity auction. No under 14s. Tickets are £10 in advance or £5 if bought before 28 June, 2.30pm-6pm

TEA CEREMONY: London Tea Club is hosting a watermelon tea ceremony with tea master Souheki Mori from NYC. Watch othetea master create match a tea with iced watermelon juice, while you enjoy traditional sweets. The event takes place at Work-Shop in Soho. £20, prebook, 5pm
