BLOOD: Today’s opportunities to donate blood are at Brewers Hall in the City of London, Sainsbury's in Dog Kennel Hill and Christ Church Hall in North Finchley. See site for terms and conditions.

BRIDGE EXHIBITION: Museum of London Docklands' largest ever art exhibition, Bridge, is open this weekend. It consists of historical and contemporary depictions of London's bridges in the form of artwork, film and photography, and also considers how bridges are used in London today. Free, just turn up, until 2 November

THEATRE FESTIVAL: National Theatre's Watch This Space Festival begins its tour around south London today, with free family fun in the shape of guerilla hairdressing, rebellious needlepoint, music and soggy cycling. Most shows are free, with no need to book. Until 31 August

PHANTOM LIMBS: A new art exhibition opens at Pillar Corrias Gallery near Oxford Circus today. Phantom Limbs traces how notions of consciousness are evolving as a result of our digitally mediated existence. Free, just turn up, until 1 August

LGBT HISTORY: To mark Pride London this weekend, GoToMidtown has a free walk in Bloomsbury and Holborn to see sites associated with lesbian and gay history, including the venue of the first Gay Liberation Front meeting in Britain. Starts outside Holborn station. Free, just turn up, 1pm

CHILDREN'S BALLET: Riverside Studios in Hammersmith is staging a ballet production of The Magic Word, the story of a beautiful Forest Queen who has to learn to ask nicely for things. FRIDA KAHLO: The Fashion and Textile Museum in Bermondsey hosts a talk by Erica Segre, a lecturer at the University of Cambridge, about Frida Kahlo and the rebozo, an iconic clothing garment worn by women in Mexico. Free with exhibition ticket (£8.80), prebook, 2.30pm

ZOO LATES READER OFFER: ZSL London Zoo's adults-only event has street food, live comedy and music, animal talks, and a chance to enjoy the zoo without the usual daytime hustle and bustle. ARCHITECTURE LATE: The V&A Museum in South Kensington has its Friday Late tonight and the theme is buildings, tying in with the London Festival of Architecture. BALLROOM DANCING: Practise your ballroom and Latin steps at Bishopsgate Institute with this informal dance evening. No partner required, and the evening begins with a taster session from experienced teacher Nicky Miles. £10/£8, prebook, 7pm

ATOMS IN ACTION: Tonight's Friday Evening Discourse at the Royal Institution in Mayfair focuses on Atoms In Action. Professor Pratibha Gai talks about her work, which has made it possible for the human eye to see  how atoms move and change positions in crystal structures during chemical reactions. £17/£11, prebook, 7.50pm

Good Cause of the Day

Former boxer Chris Eubank is giving a talk at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church on Shaftesbury Avenue tonight about his life and experiences.
