Fun, Free Events In Peckham At Literary Kitchen

Cook yourself some literary inspiration in Peckham this week, whether you're a writer or a reader. Literary Kitchen is a week-long festival of events to showcase new voices and maybe help you find your own.

There are some cracking events to enjoy, including readings and performances from Evie Wyld, Inua Ellams, Jacob Sam-La Rose, Naomi Wood, Ivan Vladislavic and more, and also talks with comic artist Steven Appleby, Sally O'Reilly and a number of literary agents. Hear new stories performed at Liars' League, write haikus, attend Miss B's Grammar Salon or just play a round of literary ping pong.

Writers should head for the daily This Is Not Writerly Behaviour sessions to meet and talk with other scribes, and an opportunity to unburden yourself of your procrastination shame is a must-attend on Friday afternoon.

There's something going on throughout each day, and since most of the events are free there's nothing to lose by just popping in. You never know what you might create.

Literary Kitchen Festival runs 16-22 June at the Peckham Pelican, 92 Peckham Road SE15. Most events are free, paid-for events cost no more than £5. For more information see the festival website.
