It's A London Thing At Make Escape

Make your own Oyster Card holder with Crafternoon Cabaret Club

Hackney Attic will be taken over by knitting needles, glue and all manner of crafty happenings on 29 April, as The Make Escape hosts its free London-themed craft event.

Following on from the successful evenings themed around Egypt, cabaret, and Chinese New Year, It's a London Thing celebrates all things to do with the capital. Make your own Oyster card holder with Crafternoon Cabaret Club, embroider an image of your favourite city building, or create a Queen's Guard peg doll with the lovely DIY fashion people at Use It Up Wear It Out.

If you've already got your own craft project on the go, you can bring that along to work on. The Knit and Knatter corner is open to newbie knitters and old hands alike, providing an opportunity to chat with like-minded people. DJs The Spinning Yarns will provide the soundtrack to the evening.

Don't forget to bring some cash along. Although the event is completely free to attend, there is a bar open throughout the evening. Plus, renowned illustrator Matt Ponting will be selling some of his artwork following his workshop on making your own cityscape.

Make Escape's It's A London Thing is on 29 April, 7.30pm-11pm at Hackney Attic. Free, just turn up.
