The Best Gigs To See In London: 10-15 February 2014

Tom Du Croz from LondonGigGuide selects his recommended gigs around town this week.

Monday 10 February

Fanfarlo, Rough Trade East, Spitalfields

Shameless Favourite of the week. This gig starts at 1pm, so it's perfect if you work nearby and want to liven up your lunch time. The event is to promote Fanfarlo's new album 'Let's Go Extinct', which is released that day. They describe their music as 'Space Opera', which sounds ridiculous until you hear their tracks and then it weirdly makes sense. Event Details

Tuesday 11 February

Princess Music, Bedroom Bar, Shoreditch

FREE GIG. Princess Music comprises five musicians who play with chamber orchestras of varying size. They take their classical techniques and use them to create a charming indie/folk/classical blend. Event Details

Wednesday 12 February

Beth Rowley, Waiting Rooms, Stoke Newington

Beth Rowley is from Bristol and her soulful voice got her a nomination for a Brit award in 2008. Since then she has taken time out to appear in a film but is now back on the music scene with new material. Event Details

Vex, Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen

This is their debut single, which they released last year. Vex recently signed to Brixton label Hostage, so 2014 should see more gigs and more releases, which is great news for fans. Event Details

Brother and Bones, Scala, King's Cross

Next month Brother and Bones are off to support the mighty Bastille. This is from the EP of the same name, which they released last year, but they are recording new tracks at the moment so new releases should follow shortly. Event Details

James Keo is joined by Sam Clifford, James Macphail, Joe Corbin & Homay Schmitz. Their laid-back acoustic vibe has been strongly influenced by the music and experiences of their travels around the globe. Event Details

Thursday 13 February

Atlanter, The Lexington, Angel

This was the first single the Norwegian group released last year. Shoe gaze with an indie side and a dollop of unfiltered Scandinavian weird on the top. Event Details
