From the Archive
We love a map here at Londonist. Big map, little map, cardboard map, we don't mind. On this day last year we published an alternative tube map by Jonathan Fisher as part of our series on the same subject — this one introducing curves and circles into the diagram.
Londoddities
Continuing Roman Week on Londoddities, today's object is this beautiful and well-preserved Roman mosaic on show at the British Museum. It was discovered beneath the north-west corner of the Bank of England in 1805, and dates back to the 3rd century. Another Roman mosaic has been left in situ at the base of one of the Bank's stairwells (photo).
