Pay What You Like To See Conrad Shawcross: Timepiece

This August, the Roundhouse Main Space will be transformed by artist Conrad Shawcross.

Advance descriptions of new commission Timepiece are vague: a huge faceless clock, intricate layers of light and shadow. Remember the rope pulley machine, Chord in Kingsway Tram Tunnel? That was him. It sounds like you can expect a similarly grand, mechanical and philosophical installation, but this time above ground, in a beautiful round space filled with light.

The accompanying special events programme includes Wayne McGregor's Random Dance and Siobhan Davies Dance responding to and performing in the installation and there are two "Live Lates" to go to, as well as artist talks.

Entry to the installation and all but one of the special events is "pay what you like", so everyone can afford to experience it.

Timepiece opens to the public from 1 to 25 August at The Roundhouse.
