If you can keep only one memory, what would it be?

Imagine a world without knowledge. A world where books and recordings have been wiped out. A world where remembering is banned. What precious memories would you lose?

Author Hari Kunzru has already imagined this memory-less world and this summer, the V&A is staging a multi-dimensional exhibition experience based on his original work of fiction.

Sky Arts Ignition: Memory Palace will transform Kunzru’s imaginings into a walk-in story, as twenty international practitioners including graphic designers, typographers and illustrators have been asked to interpret a different passage of Kunzru’s story. Visitors will be able to walk through the specially commissioned works, read the story and experience the relationship between the page and exhibition space.

The result is an immersive exhibition that not only asserts the social importance of memory, but also explores how memories can be told and re-told from different viewpoints.

If you can keep only one memory, what would it be?

Join in the discussion and tell the V&A which memory you would keep via @V_and_A on Twitter using the hashtag #MemoryPalace.

Sky Arts Ignition: Memory Palace runs from 18 June-20 October 2013 at V&A, Cromwell Road, London SW7 2RL, in partnership with Sky Arts. Tickets cost £6, please check the website for more details and bookings.
