As well as the return of Sunflowers, passers-by on The South Bank were today treated to a tasty pop-up exhibition of Monetâs famous portrayal of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, painted 110 years ago and entitled The Houses of Parliament, Sunset.

THE PIZZA CHAIN HAS COMMISSIONED Works by Van Gogh, Monet, Warhol, Munch and Lichtenstein have all been transformed into edible art to create a collection of master-pizzas entitled âLove Your Summerâ. The mouth-watering displays mark the launch of a new initiative by PizzaExpress aimed at helping Brits make the most of the season with a special summer pass for food, art, music and film.

Vincent Van Goghâs Sunflowers returned to the UK today, but with a tasty twist on the original painting. While Van Goghâs masterpiece is spending the summer in Amsterdam rather than its usual home in London, PizzaExpress brought a bit of colour to a grey summer by turning the artwork into a master-pizza, and returning it the gallery (The National Gallery) that normally houses it.

Van Gogh's Sunflowers returning to the National Gallery

We love London. We love food. But never before has it occurred to us to team the two together to create London images out of food. These are the only pictures we currently have to share with you (though we also loved this gingerbread Tate Modern), but we welcome reader submissions. Here is a step-by-step guide to creating one London landmark to get you started:

1. Cut the end off a gherkin

2. Place it upright on a level surface

3. It's the Gherkin!

Thank you to Warburtons and Pizza Express for supplying the images.
