WONDER: Today is your last day to catch Barbican Centre's Wonder Street Fair where there are drop-in activities, demonstrations and performances designed to open your mind through art and science. Free, just turn up, from 12pm
STORYTELLING: Liars’ League, where actors read stories written by writers, heads back to the Phoenix with tales of Twist and Turn. £5, just turn up, 7.30pm

FILM SCREENING: Join Crafty Pint at The Railway in Streatham for a screening of Faythe Levine's documentary film of the DIY craft movement, Handmade Nation. We have been told there will be pints and popcorn too. Free, just turn up (can reserve a table by email), 7.30pm

TREE TALES: Dulwich Park is the location for a series of family workshops, activities and events all about trees. Free, just turn up, until 13 April
ART: Gaynor O'Flynns new cross-discipline exhibition, The Artist Naked and Blurred opens today at Hanmi Gallery. Free, just turn up, until 19 April
LONDON FOLKTALES: Storyteller Helen East will be will sharing tales from her latest book, London Folk Tales and the Old King's Head, Borough. £2.50/£1.50, just turn up, 8pm
COMEDY: Nick Hall - from hit sketch group The Three Englishmen presents a jam-packed evening of comedy at The Slaughtered Lamb, along with Tom Hensby and Beasts. Free, just turn up, 8pm
Friday 12 April
FESTIVAL: Alchemy is an annual festival at Southbank Centre of music, dance, literature and design from India, the UK and South East Asia. Some of the exhibits are paid but there are plenty of free event in the Foyer and today there is a fashion show focussing on innovations coming from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Free, prebook, 6pm

OUTSIDER ART: Why not take the day to check out London's most bizarre and inventive art exhibitions. We made a list of the best of them and all of them are cheap or free.
