ST GEORGE’S DAY: Hoorah, it’s St George’s Day! Most celebratory events took place over the weekend but here are a couple of free events resolutely sticking to the date:
Music, costumes, English ale and possibly Morris dancing at The Lamb Tavern. 6pm
The Old Queen’s Head is serving up complimentary platters of their new, all English menu, plus there is a themed quiz, games and, yes, Morris dancing. 7pm

CRAP FILM: That may not sound like a ringing endorsement, but most people know the joy that comes from watching with growing disbelief an entirely crap film with your friends. The Crap Film Club presents For Y’Ur Height Only tonight. Free, book table via email, 8pm

HOOTENANNY: Hootenanny at the Harrison is a thigh-thumping live music night dedicated to bands that sing in folky harmony. Free, just turn up, 7pm
SUB-ART: In July 1940 British war artist and landscape painter Eric Ravilious (1903-42) became unofficial artist-in-residence aboard a submarine. For several weeks he made drawings in the cramped interior, join author James Russell for an illustrated talk about this artistic achievement. Free, prebook, 7pm

THE OTHER LONDON: Since Edward the Confessor built his palace and abbey, Westminster has been the focus of Royal London. London’s Other City recounts stories of its development into a centre of high fashion and power politics. Free, just turn up, 2pm

COMEDY: An afternoon of tea, cake, dancing and musical comedy with Ida Barr, ‘the people’s pensioner.’ Ida has been working with local talent - a fusion of elders, children and community choirs - to create an intergenerational performance in local heritage site and Victorian mansion Kingswood House.
