Typography Walks And Workshops For Font Fanciers

If you're one of the large number of people who gets excited over fonts, letters and typography, take a look at this upcoming series of Type Tasting events. These workshops and events are run by Sarah Hyndman,and get participants experimenting with type.

Islington Type Tasting Walk

  • Sunday 10 March, 6-9pm; £12 (including glass of wine)
  • For all (no previous creative experience necessary)
  • Apply to sarah@withrelish.co.uk and you will be sent a Paypal link
  • An evening walk through Islington photographing the lettering from signage and the environment to make up a phrase or saying.

Type Tasting presents ‘Type and Sound’

  • Sunday 17 March, 3-7pm; £20
  • Type Tasting Studio (N16)
  • For people with creative/typographic experience
  • Apply to sarah@withrelish.co.uk and you will be sent a Paypal link
  • A creative session away from the computer exploring how sound can be expressed typographically.

St Bride Library Type Tasting Evening

  • Thursday 2 May 2, 6.30-9.30pm; £25/£22.50/£20
  • Booking opens 10 March, via the St Bride website.
  • A creative workshop in expressive typography — exploring historic type and hand-creating lettering based on printed type samples from the Library’s collection. (We recently visited, and can vouch that it's worth attending just to see the historic venue.)
