Paralympic Athletics Coming Back To Olympic Stadium

Paralympic sport will be back in the Olympic stadium this summer, following two days of IAAF Diamond League competition, to mark one year on from the London Games.

British Athletics has confirmed that 26 and 27 July will see the return of many Olympic athletics champions – after George Osborne waived tax on income from appearance fees and prize money, the hope is that stars like Usain Bolt will be tempted back to Stratford to test themselves before the World Championships in Moscow. Sunday 28 July will now be dedicated to showcasing Paralympians. It's not an official competition because it follows right on the heels of the IPC World Championships in Lyon, but Hannah Cockcroft is still pretty excited about it.

There was a massive buzz at the Games last year and I’m looking forward to recreating that again this year at the London Anniversary Games. It’s a brilliant opportunity for us, as it gives us another major event to aim for and I can’t wait to get out in front of that crowd again.

There's no ticket information for the events just yet, but you can register interest on the British Athletics website.
