Ticket Alert: The Knife, Kate Nash, Cold War Kids And More

Tired of this chilly weather? Here's something to warm you up – our pick of gigs on sale this week. Tickets to all these should be available from around 9am on Friday.

Mysterious Swedish electronic-pop duo The Knife have announced shows at the Roundhouse on 8 and 9 May in support of their forthcoming new album, Shaking the Habitual. There was a presale on Wednesday which sold out in seconds, so be ready bang on 9am. Tickets £27.50 + bf.

Also at the Roundhouse, you can catch Dead Can Dance, an Australian duo who combine classical and world music styles to impressive effect. They're quite unlike anything else, and you can see them on 2 July. Tickets £30 + bf.

Kate Nash shot to fame back in 2007 with her whimsical, piano-laden debut, Made of Bricks. Her sound has changed just a bit since then – last year's grungey EP, Death Proof, was inspired in part by Quentin Tarantino. Not sure what to expect from her gig at The 100 Club on 8 May? Us neither. Tickets £15 + bf.

More predictable are Cold War Kids, a bunch of indie-rockers from California. Expect strong vocals, catchy riffs and perhaps the odd moment of quiet introspection at the The Forum on 9 May. Tickets £15 + bf.

As if proving that a five-year gap between records is no barrier to filling decent-sized venues, Matchbox Twenty have added a second date at Hammersmith Apollo. See them there on 17 April. Tickets £29.50 + bf.

Also booking this week: Field Day, which this week announced another bunch of acts, The Monochrome Set and Bleech.
