Countdown to V-Day

SHOP: E17 Designers will be proffering amorous handmade goods for sale upstairs at William Morris Gallery hoping you will buy your Valentine something unique and locally produced this year. Entry £2 and it takes place on Saturday 9 February from 10am-5pm.

TECHNO YOUR BRAINS OUT: Zombie Soundsytem presents My Bloody Valentine at Fire in Vauxhall. Tickets £10+bf now, soon to be £15+bf so book quick for this huge party on Saturday 9 February from 10pm-7am.

BOWL: Club de Fromage launch Bowl Me Over – A Dating Night With Added Balls at Rowan's Bowl, Finsbury Park. Bowl to a rock 'n' roll soundtrack, drink beer, play ping pong, find someone to snog. Tickets £18 +bf and it's on Monday 11 February from 7-10.30pm.

Things happening on Valentine's Day

CLASSICAL MUSIC: London Concert Orchestra play Classic Romance with special guests, hot opera quartet Amore, at Barbican Hall. Tickets £18-£42.50 and it's on Thursday 14 February at 7.30pm.

DANCE: The Valentine's Tea Dance at Canary Wharf's East Wintergarden promises the waltz, tango and cha cha accompanied by the Berkeley Square Society Band. Can't dance? Go to the workshop at 6pm. Tickets £12, including a glass of bubbles when you arrive, on Thursday 14 February, 7.30-10.30pm.

RETROMANIA: Get romantic surrounded by the history of our capital as Museum of London goes back to the twenties with a chance to Charleston, drink Absinthe and enjoy vintage cabaret. Tickets £7. Takes place on Thursday 14 February from 7-10pm.

LUST: Pile on the sauce exploring the City of Sin with South East London Folklore Society as author Catherine Arnold talks about London's vices through the ages Upstairs at the Old King's Head, off Borough High Street. Entry £2.50/£1.50 on Thursday 14 February from 8-10pm.

FLICKS: BFI Southbank is having visions of love with screenings of classic and contemporary love films in all four screens from 6pm on Valentine's Day. Check the website for times, tickets & booking. Nothing like a stroll along the Southbank to top a romantic night.

JAZZ: Harking back to the sexy smooth Rat Pack era, Jazzbomb play the Hideaway in Streatham on Thursday 14 February. Tickets are £15 but you can add dinner on top. Doors at 7pm, show starts at 8.30pm.

MURDER: Watch comedy, murder mystery plan, The Saint Valentine's Day Murder at Lost Theatre, Wandsworth. Tickets £10/£8, show runs 14-16 February at 8pm.
