The Peckham Literary Festival returns tomorrow for its sixth year of fantastic free events with a more-or-less bookish theme at the Review Bookshop and Persepolis.
The highlight is undoubtedly an evening of short stories on 20 November from Nikesh Shukla, Will Wiles, Benjamin Wood, Jim Bob and Sam Mead. Far more satisfying than novel excerpts, you'll get to hear five highly talented writers tell you a story. It'll be like the best bedtime ever (please don't fall asleep; that would be rude). You're strongly recommended to reserve a place for this one.
Food lovers should head to Persepolis on Monday where Ms Marmite Lover will be helping out all day, then in the evening talking supper clubs and signing copies of her new recipe book. Take your pick of musical delights on Wednesday, with either a collaborative project reworking lyrics or songs inspired by the journals, letters and biographies of Scott's Antartic expedition.
The end of the week turns contemplative with Charlie Campbell and Lisa Ballantyne exploring guilt in fiction and non-fiction on Friday, and Richard Barnett and Peter Hobbs looking at what makes a good death on Saturday.
