Free & Cheap London Events: 26 November - 2 December

A selection of things to do for a fiver or less this week.


Monday 26 November: When gay people get married is the topic of debate at the LSE public lecture from 6.30pm (free).

Tuesday 27 November: Make Noise is a party night with a conscience - take along a small electronic item to hand in at the door for recycling and you get in free at Corsica Studios, Elephant & Castle from 7pm-1am (free).

RIBA Last Tuesday is Colour Me Vertical with film, talks, tours, debate, live music from 6-10pm (free entry).

Wednesday 28 November: Celebrate the anniversary of the first text message at the Science Museum Late from 6.45-10pm (free entry).

Thursday 29 November: Explore the art galleries of Fitzrovia, open late and open to all until 9pm for Fitrovia Lates (free entry).

London Fortean Society opens the False Memory Archive at The Bell, 50 Middlesex Street from 8-10.30pm, open to all (£3/£2 concs).

A talk about the history of campanology ends with a chance to try ringing some handchimes at Toynbee Studios from 7.30pm (free entry).

BoxedIN is a spoken word and open mic night at Boxpark, Shoreditch and this month it's moustache themed from 6.30-9pm (free entry).

Friday 30 November: Ray's Jazz at Foyles puts on live music between 6-7pm with Taeko Kunishima, a Japanese-born and London based pianist who plays melodic jazz with a thoroughly contemporary sound (free entry).

The Swedenborg International Short Film Festival screens its shortlist in Swedenborg Hall from 6-9pm (free but book your place by email).

Saturday 1 December: The We Make London Christmas Arts & Crafts Fair is at Battersea Arts Centre with designer makers punting good gifts and carol singing and jollity from 11am-5pm (free entry).

Sunday 2 December: The Diggin' Design Winter Fair at the Garden Museum in Lambeth is a Christmas shopping opportunity and a chance to discover the museum and its beautiful knot garden (the veggie cafe is also awesome) from 10.30am-6pm (£2/£1.50 concs entry).
