Circus Preview: Du Goudron Et Des Plumes @ Barbican Theatre

This is a sponsored post on behalf of the Barbican.

The darkly thrilling, inventive and exhilarating circus performance, Du Goudron et des Plumes from Compagnie MPTA / Mathurin Bolze returns to the Barbican Theatre next week.

The 75 minute show sees five acrobats bounce off each other on a swinging platform suspended in mid-air. Yes, you read that right. It's an elevated exploration of friendship, cooperation and trust and a spectacular performance.

Whilst fighting to keep afloat, five strangers are thrown together on a pitching rolling vessel adrift somewhere between earth and sky in a performance of great beauty and heart-stopping tension.

Our review last year summed up the show as "a simple piece of very physical theatre that feels pretty epic". Frankly, we were entranced by the visual feast, acrobatics and atmosphere.

The show was a sell out at Barbican in 2011 so book tickets now.

Du Goudron et des Plumes returns to Barbican Theatre from Wednesday 28 November to Saturday 1 December at 7.45pm. Tickets are £16-30.
