London Jazz Festival Preview: A Gig @ Chappell Of Bond Street

London Jazz Festival is high profile and huge, packing out our city's great concert halls each year. But it also likes to mix things up and spread them out with gigs in all sorts of venues across London from tiny clubs to local arts venues and pubs.

One-such intimate setting is the historic piano hall of Chappell of Bond Street in Soho. This was the former Sales Room of sheet music publisher Novello & Co, who had the building built on Wardour Street in 1906.

The piano hall is usually full of beautiful grand pianos for sale but on this special night, the joannas will be packed up to make space for just 100 lucky gig-goers at a tenner a head. The musical treat in store is a tribute to one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, Oscar Peterson.

Two pianos will be used by acclaimed British jazz pianists James Pearson and Tom Cawley and you are promised an entertaining evening with humorous anecdotes and amazing music in a beautiful setting.

Tickets are just £10 but only 100 are available, so book quick!

A Musical Portrait of Oscar Peterson is at Chappell of Bond Street, 152-160 Wardour Street on Thursday 15 November at 7.30pm.

London Jazz Festival runs from 9-18 November.
