Preview: London Cocktail Week 2012

Tickets are now on sale for London Cocktail Week (8-14 October) the annual celebration of all things bibulous.

Now into its third year, LCW comprises many events across town, though this time the epicentre is at Seven Dials in Covent Garden. A pop-up LCW shop where you can buy your wristband (£4 in advance, £10 after) can be found at 15 Short's Gardens. After your wrist is suitably adorned, you can then slalom your way around town taking in the various libations, including, among other delights, a rum and ice cream shack and a botanical bicycle. For those who want to live the two-Martini lunch dream, there's also a Mad Men marathon, complete with Woodford Reserve cocktails (think Old Fashioned) at the Roxy Bar & Screen on Sunday 14 October.

There's also the chance to go make your own way around town via cocktail tours that take in various London locales, including Shoreditch, Notting Hill and Soho, where you'll find certain cocktails for £4. Just make sure you have a decent excuse ready if you're out drinking on a school night.

London Cocktail Week runs from 8-14 October. Follow the organisers on Twitter @LDNCocktailWeek
