Paralympic Lowdown: Thursday 6 September

During the London 2012 Paralympic Games we’ll bring you a daily heads-up on what’s happening where, including sporting and cultural events, transport and weather.


Top things to see and do

  • Have you seen the London Bridge Live Arts performers around Hays Galleria? Watch out for them between 12-4pm (free).
  • Dance troupe Far From The Norm perform a groundbreaking street dance show throughout the afternoon as part of Molten Festival in Barking at the Broadway Theatre (free).
  • Fashion's Night Out is huge this year with hundreds of stores putting on special offers, limited edition gifts, celeb stocked parties, exhibitions and live entertainment all to encourage you to shop, shop, shop tonight. We recommend you check out Beadle's Burlesque in Burlington Arcade from 6-9pm (free).
  • Watch Casablanca on the lawn at Fulham Palace from 7.45pm (£12.50).
  • There's live music from London Calling and the Paralympics on the big screen in Trafalgar Square (free).
  • Amazing dance company Candoco perform new work at Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of Unlimited at 8pm (tickets £10-20).

Events will be taking place across east London at the Olympic Park, ExCeL, North Greenwich Arena and Royal Artillery Barracks.

  • 9am Boccia
  • 9am 5-A-Side Football
  • 9am Shooting - Karen Butler goes in the R8 event on the final day of shooting at the Royal Artillery Barracks (qualification 9am, final 12.45pm).
  • 9am Sitting Volleyball
  • 9am Table Tennis
  • 9.30am Swimming - Jonathan Fox goes for gold in the 400m freestyle (5.47pm) and British trio Louise Watkin, Steph Millward and Lauren Steadman battle it out in the 200m medley (5.38pm).
  • 10am Athletics - See Oscar Pistorius, American Jerome Singleton and Briton Jonnie Peacock line up with the world's fastest amputee sprinters in the T44 100m final (9.16pm). Libby Clegg and Stef Reid both target success in their 200m events.
  • 10.30am Road Cycling - Sarah Storey bids for more Paralympic success in the women's road race (2.32pm)
  • 11am Sailing - Brits look for a first ever sailing medal in the SKUD 18 (1pm) and the Sonar(11am)
  • 11am Wheelchair Fencing
  • 12pm Wheelchair Tennis
  • 1pm Goalball
