Help Wrap Up London For Winter

Remember the coat collections at tube stations last year?

Volunteer wranglers Hands on London are aiming for another seasonal haul of warm winter wear in the week of Monday 5 November.

So, if you're getting ready to purchase a fine new coat, consider whether your old one is fit to be passed on. This year it's hoped that over 10,000 coats can be given to vulnerable people through over 80 different shelters and charities in London.

But the coats won't cart themselves to where they're needed so Hands on London is putting the call out for volunteers to help with the mammoth task of collecting, sorting and distributing the donations.

People are needed at eight central London Underground stations to hand out leaflets and awareness raising Wrap Up London Oyster cards on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 November and then to receive donations from Wednesday 7 to Friday 9 November between 7am-11am. Weekend workers are wanted for sorting stock at the temporary warehouses from Saturday 10 November and drivers are also in demand for those deliveries.
