Preview: I Love Lists @ Foyles

If you have an anally retentive streak, love planning and stationery, I Love Lists is made for you.

It's basically a night where you make lists of your favourite stuff, according to topics announced by your host Jess Indeedy. A simple concept and surprisingly engrossing, as you sit there with a slice of cake, some booze and good friends, trying to rank your favourite potato dishes (incidentally: if you have anything other than tartiflette as your number one choice, you're wrong. There are no wrong answers at I Love Lists, but there are wrong answers at Londonist).

You may have encountered Jess Indeedy at one of her other events, like Musical Bingo or Lunchtime Disco, and she's very good at creating a laid back, kitsch-but-not-(entirely)-cheesy atmosphere. DJ Helix is also present, spinning records themed to each topic. If your inner stationery nerd is flummoxed at whether you'll choose the lined or square-printed free notebook (just bring your own pen), this is the night for you.

I Love Lists is in the cafe at Foyles, Charing Cross Road, on 9 August and 13 September, 7pm. Tickets cost £4 advance / £5 on the door.
