London 2012 Lowdown: Saturday 4 August

During the London 2012 Games we'll bring you a daily heads-up on what's happening where, including sporting and cultural events, transport and weather.

Top things to see and do

  • The Women’s Olympic Triathlon takes place in and around Hyde Park from 9am (free).
  • Watch the Olympic Men’s 20km Race Walk from 5pm (free).
  • Go to the Fish Island Festival at iCAN Studios on every day of the Olympic Games, with big screens, games, face painting, arts and crafts and the Bicycle Library daily, 10am-10pm (£10 inc. BBQ).
  • London Is The Place For Me is a free festival celebrating 50 years of political independence for Trinidad & Tobago. Enjoy a mixture of workshops, dance classes, poetry, theatre, exhibitions, concerts and films at the Tricycle Theatre until 25 August (free).
  • Take a trip to the very end of the District Line for the Military and Flying Machines Show at Damyns Hall Aerodrome, Upminster with arena activities including a bunker bash skirmish attack on a pill box, tank and helicopter rides, battles, explosions, fire power demonstrations and more (£8, conc. £6).
  • See what's going on at Antony's Meltdown at the Southbank Centre.
  • Last chance to see the Art Cars in Shoreditch (free entry).
