There are many wonderful charitable challenges that you can undertake in London but one dear to our hearts is Maggie's Night Hike - a 10 or 20 mile nocturnal walk taking in some of the city's best loved buildings in aid of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.
Londonist people led teams on the 20 miler in both 2010 and 2011. You can read our accounts with those links, but the skinny on it is: it's a very long walk but a life affirming and moving experience.
Maggie's Cancer Caring centres are represented in the UK by the amazing orange hub at Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith. We urge you to pay it a visit - as we did. We know you will be made welcome and feel inspired by what they do.
An added incentive to sign up for the hike is its association with Open House Weekend. The route will include visits to Leadenhall Market, RIBA, the Royal Geographical Society, 20 Gresham Street, Roca London Gallery, City Hall and Maggie's itself as well as an exclusive turn on the London Eye.
Maggie's London Night Hike takes place on Friday 21 September. Whether you register as an individual or as a team, do the 10 or 20 mile walk, we promise you'll have a night of memories to cherish and be helping a really wonderful cause. Register now.
