Mid-way between the Jubilee and the Olympics, on the Queen’s official birthday, London’s finest antiques emporium, Alfies, celebrates its Summer Jubilee.
This Saturday, visitors to the 75-odd antiques shops around Alfies Antiques Market can enjoy live music and afternoon tea in the newly opened Rooftop Kitchen.
There’ll also be specially arranged guided tours of Alfies, perfect for those of us interested in antiques, but nervous about our lack of knowledge. Guides will lead tours of up to six people around the labyrinthine building, introducing you to dealers, and imparting expert know-how in the art of “antiquing”.
The guided tours are free but booking on 020 7723 6066 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org is advised.
Alfies Antique Market is at 13-25 Church Street, Marylebone, London NW8 8DT. It’s open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Visit www.alfiesantiques.com for more info.
