Bread And Circuses Occupy 1-2 Lincoln's Inn Fields

Anish Kapoor's empty property at 1-2 Lincoln's Inn Fields will be "liberated" by a group called Bread and Circuses from 4pm today.

The group are protesting against "a hostile corporate assault on public spaces, art and communities", taking Kapoor's £15 a pop Orbit tower as its symbol.

They say such, "grand spectacles are being used by the government and corporations to take our minds off austerity measures, the global economic crisis and the commodification of everything, even art."

The building will open from 4pm today for an evening of talks and performances, including Trenton Oldfield talking about the social and political history of Lincoln's Inn railings and an OCCUPY London general assembly.
