London Artists: Vic Lee's Walthamstow Mural

Vic Lee is an artist based in Clerkenwell on a mission to draw the best bits of London, celebrating the city through architecture, history and story telling.

His latest work is a huge piece of street art in Walthamstow which draws on tall tales and urban legends elicited from local residents and school children. Vic mixed local stories of horse thieves, wandering cows on motorways and baby Superman in with some fabrications of his own to create the illustrated monochrome mural on Wood Street, E17.

Meanwhile, he's working on drawings of Crouch End to add to his portfolio of intricate, imaginative, informative street portraits of Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Clerkenwell, Stoke Newington, Islington, Dulwich, Battersea, Portobello, Maida Vale and Bloomsbury.

Vic Lee was commissioned by Waltham Forest Council as part of the Inside Out Project celebrating the Wood Street area.
