Hoxton Rocks Live @ Wenlock And Essex Tonight

One of Islington’s finest drinking emporiums, the Wenlock and Essex, hosts Hoxton FM tonight (12 April) for a live four hour broadcast of Hoxton Rocks featuring six live bands, live audience and your own piece of simulcast history.

The night is part, 90’s music show, White Room meets Jools Holland’s Later in a seedy strip club, part hip Radio 1 Road Show, and it’s free.

The live line-up includes The Foxes, who are taking time out from scavenging the bins to play ‘rip’ roaring indie, electro gypsy and ragtime rhumba from Mano De Dios, and synth-rap guitar troupe, Two Little Boys.

Joining Hoxton Rocks DJ and Londonist contributor, Andy Thornley, is his Olympics Show co-host David Harris, for live interviews with the bands the audience - as well as spinning the wheels or steel to tease out the wall flowers.

Hoxton Rocks,12 April, Wenlock and Essex, 18-26 Essex Road, London N1 8LN, 7pm-11pm, free entry. It will be simultaneously broadcast on Hoxton FM via www.hoxton.fm
