Ticket Alert: Jack White, Eddie Vedder, Katzenjammer

From Pearl Jam to The White Stripes, there's a definite rock theme to the gigs going on sale this Friday. Here are our picks.

This week saw another headliner announced for the summer's Hard Rock Calling. It's a long time since Paul Simon's seminal album Graceland was released. 24 years, in fact, which is why his appearance on 15 July will see the folk-rock legend play the record in its entirety. Tickets £55 + bf, from 9am.

Talking of Hard Rock Calling, Pearl Jam's set there in 2010 was Eddie Vedder's most recent appearance in London. This time round he'll be solo at the Hammersmith Apollo on 30 July, playing a mix of covers and original material from his ukulele album. Tickets from £37.50 + bf, available 9am.

Also appearing in Hammersmith – this time on 22 June – is another of rock's big hitters, Jack White. Shorn of Meg, minus the Raconteurs and without the Dead Weather, he'll use his considerable guitar skills to show off his new album. Tickets £30 + bf, from 9am.

If you missed last week's batch of Gossip tickets for XOYO, here's a second chance. They'll be over at Shepherd's Bush Empire on 5 July. Tickets £17 + bf, from 9am.

And finally, Wikipedia says 'katzenjammer' is a German word which literally means 'cat's wail'. But that does Katzenjammer the band something of a disservice. With a whole range of instruments, this Norwegian group sit somewhere between pop, folk and rock with some definite Balkan influences. They're a whole lot of fun – see them at XOYO on 23 May. Tickets £13.50 + bf, from 9am.

Also booking this week: Feeder, Regina Spektor, Paul Heaton and Lauryn Hill.
