Dinner and a movie just got easier with the opening of Ambar at the Odeon IMAX Cinema at Swiss Cottage. The new bar with food menu offers cocktails from £5.95 and a range of 25 wines by the glass. With its 2am license, it might be a good one to keep in mind whether you're a moviegoer or not.

Some Drake & Morgan venues (Southwark's Refinery, Canary Wharf's Parlour and the Folly and the Drift in the City) have begun offer a free Bloody Mary with their £12.95 Sunday roasts.

Shoreditch's Stew House “pop up restaurant based on a heart warming stew set around a beautifully decorated banqueting table” is back and taking bookings for the dates of 22 to 24 and 29 to 31 March.

La Dolce Vita, London's “favourite, most authentic celebration of all things Italian”, returns for a ninth year running this week, 9 to 11 March at Islington’s Business Design Centre. There will be exhibitors from the realms of fashion, property and travel but the emphasis will be on food. Slow Food affiliates are “particularly welcome” and a number of Italian products currently not for sale in the UK will be available to sample.

Fetter Lane's The White Swan pub is offering a “British Seasonal Food and Wine Evening” tomorrow night from 7.30pm sharp. For £48 per person, diners can expect a celebration of “British Pie Week" with a five course tasting menu featuring steak and snail pie, Lancashire hot pot and Billingsgate fish pie with Scottish langoustines accompanied by wines selected by sommelier Paulo Brammer.

Lonely Planet is to host its first ever Street Food Festival at Village Underground on 28 and 29 March. Tickets are for over 18s only and cost £10 (plus a £1 booking fee) for three tasting dishes “including street food from Ghana, Spain and India”. The event is to celebrate the publication of The World's Best Street Food, an “exciting new book which shows you where to find and how to make some of the world’s most authentic dishes”. Word on the street is that tickets for this are selling fast.
