Olivier Dassault comes from an esteemed family. His grandfather was an engineer who lent the Dassault name to France’s fighter jets and his father was a French senator – so he has a lot to live up to.

This Dassault has chosen to focus on photography and he uses his talents to create works of art that convert everyday objects into pictures that seem like they’re showing another world.

He uses silver film and multiple exposure shots to create his works. Not that it matters. You’ll be too busy trying to unpick his labyrinthine photographs and figure out the identity of the subject he started with.

Over 30 works will be on display at the Opera Gallery in what promises to be a surreal and mesmeric exhibition.

Insights by Olivier Dassault is at the Opera Gallery, 134 New Bond Street, W1S 2TF from 8-18 March. Entrance is free.
