Preview: London Fashion Week 17-21 February

London Fashion Week (which doesn't last a week) is one of those huge London events that you — dear reader who is not involved in the industry — may not attend. But if you like shopping and style there are some peripheral public events to tune you into Autumn/Winter 2012 and opportunities to bag vintage and designer gems at knock down prices.

Get in the mood for all things fashion with a special karaoke at Source Below, Soho. Line up Suede 'She's in Fashion', Kraftwerk 'The Model', Bowie's 'Fashion' etc. on Monday 13 February from 6-11pm (free but please register online).

The Upstyler Barnabus Bazaar celebrates the beginning of London Fashion Week on Friday 17 February with a 'high end vintage shopping experience' at the House of St Barnabus, Greek Street, Soho. From noon till 7pm (£5 donation on entry).

The Good Fashion Show focuses on eco and ethical fashion on Saturday 18 February at London House, Mecklenburg Square WC1. Browse exhibitions and the market during the day (£5 entry) or attend the evening runway show, featuring live music and performance as well as right-on apparel (£30).

Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair is on Sunday 19 February at Urdang (the Old Finsbury Town Hall) on Rosebery Avenue between 11am-4.30pm (£4 entry).

The Designer Jumble Sale takes place on Tuesday 21 February at the Church of the Annunciation, Marble Arch, W1H 7AH from 4pm - follow @DesignerJumble to preview the gear going on sale. Prices starting at £5 and 100% of profits go to charities, including JustForKids Law (free entry).

London Fashion Weekend (which, in the contrary style of London Fashion Week, lasts longer than a weekend) opens for serious stylistas and shoppers from 23-26 February. This is a 'premium designer shopping event' at Somerset House where you could bag a killer designer bargain (various ticket prices available).

Fusion @ London is an inter-university fashion show taking place at the Limehouse Troxy on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 February. It's a mix of fashion, music and dance from emerging talent (tickets from £18/£10 students). Warning - you will have to cope with the cast of Made in Chelsea hosting.

This time around, Londonist's coverage will focus on London street style in and around London Fashion Week. We'd welcome street photography and photo portraits of fashion types loitering around Somerset House and the other LFW venues as well as stone cold London style icons, brilliantly oblivious to the dictums of haute couture, captured candid. Please add them to our Flickrpool tagged LFW or email [email protected] and we'll feature the best on the site.

What have we missed? Let us know in the comments.
