Look Out For 'Word In Motion' on London Underground

Remember this, from last year?

The Smile For London team, responsible for this and other moving image art work on digital screens across London Underground last January, are back.

This time they intend to brighten your January commuting blues with inspiring words from new and established writers, illustrated and animated by top creatives.

Watch out for poems from the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Francesca Beard, Murray Lachlan Young, Scroobius Pip, Benjamin Zephaniah, Cerys Matthews, Ross Sutherland, Salena Godden, Nikesh Shukla and Inua Ellams alongside work selected from an open call for online submissions.

A whole host of motion artists — including illustrators, typographers, animators and filmmakers — will create visual responses to the texts, creating video artwork designed to lift your hearts and minds on the trek to and from work.

Word in Motion begins on Monday 16 January on digital screens across the network.
