TONIGHT: Christmas Coup Special - Russian Art In E8

Got an appetite for one more pop-up event before the year-end? Young Russian artists stage Coup D'Etat tonight, taking over a private space in the aptly named Arthaus building in London Fields to showcase new art rooted in Western culture but steeped in Russian heritage.

The show will feature video and photographic works as well as large-scale drawings and performances by two of the artists. There will also be music and drinks and a cool sprinkling of Christmas party spirit.

All the artists were born in the last years of Soviet decay and came to London to study art. They are Maria Gruzdeva, Andrey Shental & Katerina Beloglazova, Olga Grotova, Sergey Kudryashev, Iulia Filipovscaia and Tatiana Baskakova.

Coup D’Etat: New Russian Art from London takes place tonight, 22 December 7-10pm at Arthaus, 199-205 Richmond Road, London E8 3NJ.
