Museum Of London Asks: Is The Queen Around Your Place?

She's on your letters and on your cash; if the Queen is also around your place, you could soon be seen in the Museum of London.

As well as inspiring flashmobs, Her Maj has appeared on numerous items of memoribilia over her near-sixty-year reign. The Barbican-based museum will be celebrating next June's Diamond Jubilee with a new exhibition, At Home With The Queen, and is inviting Londoners to submit photographs of themselves in their own home with a treasured image of the Queen.

It can be on a biscuit tin, tea towel or commemorative cosy - dig it out, take a pic and you could be seen alongside other items from the Museum’s own collections dating back to last Diamond Jubilee (Queen Victoria’s in 1897). Don't worry too much about the quality of your photo: the ten chosen entrants will be professionally photographed at home with their cherished souvenir.

Entrants should live in Greater London and should send a photo of themselves and their item to [email protected] or by post to At home with the Queen, Museum of London, 150 London Wall, London EC2Y 5HN.

The closing date for submissions is midnight Friday 23 December 2011 with winning entrants being notified by Monday 16 January 2012. Full details here.
