Dreams Of A Life: A Documentary Film About Joyce Vincent

In 2006 we reported on the death of Joyce Vincent.

Joyce died alone in her Wood Green bedsit in 2003 but her body went undiscovered until 2006 when rent arrears prompted a housecall. Her remains were found in front of the telly - still on - surrounded by Christmas presents that she was in the process of wrapping.

This stark and shocking example of how absolute isolation is possible in a bustling city of millions is now the basis of a documentary feature film by Carol Morley which seeks to reconstruct Joyce's life and ask how such a situation could arise.

Just think - how much do you really know about the people in your life?

There's a special screening of Dreams of a Life at Cineworld Wood Green on 14 December followed by a Q&A with the director. It is then on general release at cinemas around London from 16 December through to the end of January 2012.
