Ticket Alert: NME Awards Tour @ Brixton Academy

Camden rockers, and hot tip for 2012, Tribes will play next year's prestigious NME Awards tour which climaxes at London’s Brixton Academy on 25 Feburary.

The annual tour is headlined by Northern Ireland trio Two Door Cinema Club, and features brilliant Devon band and Mercury Prize nominees Metronomy. Tickets go on sale Friday 11 November at 9am.

The opening band slot, which has previously showcased luminaries such as Coldplay, Florence and the Machine and …Fluffy, is filled by Harlem singer and Major Lazer collaborator Azealia Banks. Don’t worry, us neither.

The fever around Tribes has been growing for some time and the NME tour will propel the Londoners  mainstream bound, especially after recently selling out the Electric Ballroom and headlining The Forum on New Year’s Eve.

If you don't know them yet think of Tribes as a good Towers of London with elements of the Macabees and you’re nearly there. Judging by this summer’s festival appearances, and an obsessive  fanbase following comparable with the Manics', they'll be headlining the same venue within months.

The NME Awards tour heads to Brixton Academy 25 February, 2012. Tickets go on general sale 9am Friday 11 November, through See Tickets
