Music Preview: December Sessions @ The O2

Over 100 new bands are lined up to play for free at the O2 over 20 nights next month for the unique ‘December Sessions ’.

Starting on  December 3 December Sessions will showcase up and coming artists from all genres on a specially constructed stage in the O2’s London Piazza giving visitors of all ages a taste of up and coming artists and those ‘hotly tipped’ in 2012.

As well as an opportunity for five new bands each night to play the renowned venue at an early stage in their careers it also reflects the emergence of a new generation of artists who may one day take to the main arena stage.

Already confirmed to play are Glastonbury Emerging Talent winners, and rather good, Treetop Flyers, London’s Belakis who’s bassist Tatia is Ringo Starr’s granddaughter, and a man from The Hoosiers.

There will also be a Routemaster converted into a mini music museum by the O2’s British Music Experience and a series of ‘silent gigs’ where the audience control their own volume via headphones.

December Sessions takes place from 4pm each night at the London Piazza, O2, Greenwich, between December 3 -22. Full details can be found at http://facebook.com/decembersessions
