London Fire Brigade Live Tweets Bonfire Night

London Fire Brigade livetweeted their call-outs last night, providing a fascinating insight into their busiest night of the year. Between 4pm and midnight they received 528 calls and went out to 114 "bonfire related incidents" - not all of them out of control bonfires.

Several flats and balconies caught fire; while some of these won't have been to do with fireworks (though a fire in Holborn is thought to have been started by someone chucking a firework through a window), we can report first hand that fireworks set off in a garden reach roughly the height of a seventh-floor flat... So this particular tweet caught our eye:

"3 fire engines have been called out to reports of smoke coming from the 7th floor of a tower block on Mountbatten Ave, Romford"

There were many out-of control bonfires. Here are a few examples:
