Free Ice Skating in The Scoop @ More London

Many of us associate The Scoop in More London with free films / music / theatre on lovely summer evenings.

But this year, they’re getting into the Christmas spirit too, if a little late, and a little short-lived.

For three days from 9 December, you can enjoy free festive fun as an ice rink opens in More London. It’s all down to the new Tesco on Tooley Street, who are offering free mince pies, mulled wine and hot chocolate in store for skaters. (Pick up your cup at the rink, and take it in store…)

Alongside all this branded free stuff, there’ll also be around 30 traders from London’s markets, selling jewellery, fashion, books, glassware, crafts and seasonal food and drink. Ernst & Young are also providing space for the Prince's Trust, so young entrepreneurs can sell their stuff on the stalls.

There’ll also be string quartets and brass bands playing festive tunes to get you in the mood.

It sounds like the classic, awkward, festive blend of corporate, commercial, Christmassy, and charitable.

The More London Christmas Market and Ice Rink takes place on 9 to 11 December, at the Scoop in More London. It's open from 10am until 6pm each day. Admission is free.
