What's for Lunch? Dunya, Clapton Pond

£1.50 for a filling and fairly healthy lunch? It's a reality in Clapton at Dunya, a fully licensed restaurant and takeaway shop serving “traditional charcoal grill cuisine.” For a quid and a half, Dunya's lahmacun (baked, grilled and rolled up Turkish “pizza” with minced lamb and fresh salad) is as tasty a treat as you're apt to find anywhere in London – just this side of massive as well. And if that's not enough, another £1.50 will get you an ample side of not particularly inspiring chips. If the weather's favourable, cross the street for al fresco dining at Clapton Pond.

Beyond the lahmacun, you'll find affordable standard kebab shop options for takeaway in the front plus a more formal menu and table service dining area in back. Folks here are friendly and they make proper Turkish tea and coffee too.

Dunya is located at 199 Lower Clapton Road, E5 8EG. There's no web presence that Londonist can find but you can give the restaurant a ring at 020 8985 7989.
