London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 16-22 October

Our pick of where to find funny next week

Sunday: Edinburgh Best Newcomer nominee Cariad Lloyd brings that very show and those very characters to the Pleasance (8pm, £7 / £6).

Monday: Head to the Phoenix for Old Rope and Pete Firman, Rich Hall, Sarah Kendall, Mike Wilmot and Tiffany Stevenson (8.30pm, £5).

Tuesday: There's a fundraising night for Oxfam at the New Red Lion with a bunch of the tightest comedians yet to be on your telly: Pappy's, John-Luke Roberts, Tom Goodliffe and Chris Martin (7.30pm, £6).

Wednesday: Another Edinburgh nominee, Josie Long, is doing a run at the Soho Theatre. She started yesterday and goes on til Saturday with her latest show, still fighting the Tories (9.45pm , £15 / £10).

Thursday: Lowdown at the Albany is closing in about a week, which is really quite sad. Have a nearly-final party with My Mum's House and guests Segue Sisters, Tom Webb, Mark Smith, Kishore Nayar, Ivan Markovic, Nathan Dean Williams, Miles Lloyd, Vikki Stone and McNeil & Pamphilon (8pm, £6.50 / £4.50).

Alternatively, catch the excellent Doc Brown rapping and comedying at the Bloomsbury Theatre (7.30pm, £13).

Friday: Isy Suttie is also at the Bloomsbury Theatre with her Edinburgh show, sharing snippets from her romantic life (7.30pm, £13).

Saturday: Not got your tickets yet for The Horne Section shows? What are you waiting for? Tim Minchin, Josie Long and Bruce Airhead join Alex Horne and the band at the Criterion Theatre tonight (10.30pm, £20 / £17.50 / £15).
