Diwali Dining in London

Looking to celebrate the Festival of Lights with a feast? Here's a list of restaurants offering special Diwali menus.

Cinnamon Kitchen has a four-course tasting menu for £45 per person available until 22 October. Dishes include a collection of “delicately spiced treats” including tandoori king prawns, grilled partridge, roasted rack of lamb, Bombay spiced vegetables and a creamy saffron malai hawa dessert. 9 Devonshire Square, EC2M 4YL

A “celebratory Diwali feast menu” runs until 30 October at Dishoom and features phaldari kofta ruby, a dish of dumplings stuffed with vegetables, paneer and pomegranate, and the Diwali Biryani, slow-cooked and layered with winter vegetables and aromatic rice encased in a dough purdah - all for just £22.50 per person. Alternatively, guests can try grilled lobster tail, cooked with ginger, chilli, lime and coriander followed by the chicken berry biryani - for £27.50 per person. Both feasts start with a choice of a passion fruit Bellini or lassi and are served with dahi puri, mini puffed bread shells with chickpeas and yoghurt and flavoured with tamarind, raita, a choice of freshly prepared breads and Dishoom’s signature slow-cooked house black daal. Desserts include a choice of a gola ice or kulfi, followed by the house chai. Diners will also receive traditional Indian sweets as part of the festivities. 12 Upper St. Martin’s Lane, London WC2H 9FB

Trishna has a special tasting menu on offer until the 26th. The four or six course tasting menu (vegetarian options available) with matching wines and petit-fours of prasad starts at £35 per person for the four course menu (£68 including matched wines) and £44 for the six course menu (£84 including matched wines). A few delectable sounding items on the menu include guinea fowl tikka with fennel seed, star anise, masoor lentils, Dorset brown crab with garlic pepper and butter and roasted aubergine with tamarind, paneer and peanut. 15 -17 Blandford Street, W1U 3DG

Located across the road from Neasden's Swaminarayan Temple, sattvic vegetarian restaurant Shayona is offering a Diwali special set menu for just £11.99. The feast includes sweetcorn and paneer rolls, langarwali dahl and sevaiya, a dessert made with rice vermicelli. The menu is available until 6 November. 54 - 62 Meadow Garth, NW10 8HD
