Friday: Lewisham Literary Festival starts tonight in SE13. Ticketed events £4, with many free events over the weekend for kids.

Watch Ladykillers in Nunhead Cemetery for free tonight thanks to Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival which runs till 18 September.

Kings Place Festival is also on till Sunday with many free events and concerts, gigs and comedy shows just £4.50.

Saturday: The Mayor's Thames Festival means free riverside fun all weekend.

Go to the free Lowbrow Festival on Haggerston Park for a music and art extravaganza, including Hungamunga arty party action, between noon and 8pm.

Watch out for key trends on the free Carnaby Catwalk at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.

Sunday: Watch or even take your pet to participate (£3/2) in the fun Dog Show on Tooting Common from 11.30am.

Celebrate the London Wildlife Trust's birthday at Sydenham Hill Wood Open Day between midday and 5pm with nature walks, beasty activities and family friendly fun, free.

Monday: The Good Ship Comedy Club, Kilburn is headlined by Lucy Porter tonight - only a fiver in so get there early, acts at 8pm.

Tuesday: Attend a Medieval Song recital by the Orlando Concert at The Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great, 6 Kinghorn Street, London EC1A 7HW 6pm, free.

Wednesday: The LSE public film screening and panel discussion looks at Coexist - a film about Rwandan genocide survivors - from 6.30pm, free, first come, first served.

Thursday: Catch Italian short films, comedies and docos at Portobello Film Festival pop-up cinema on Acklam Way, free.
