All weekend

Commemorate and learn about the Battle of Cable Street at Wilton's Music Hall with free Friday cabaret, a free concert on Saturday and an almost festival on Sunday.
The Royal Society throws open its doors with a two day celebration of art, science and literature with One Culture including free stuff for kids and families on Saturday.
Gamers will want to get to the PLAYER festival at the Science Museum.

Lambeth artists also invite you in for the Lambeth Open - go see the Southbank mosaic project in St John's crypt at Waterloo (free).
Free film at the Portobello Pop-Up Cinema under the Westway includes Notting Hill and My Beautiful Launderette.
It's the final weekend of Deptford X Visual Arts festival. Take a walking tour of the festival on Saturday afternoon from 2pm with the South London Art Map or just drop in to some of the many exhibitions, open studios, installations and performances.

Friday:

Make stuff at the V&A 'Power of Making' late from 6.30-10pm (free).
SLAM Last Fridays mean late openings and after parties - hop along to Skylark Galleries at Gabriels Wharf before 8pm or visit All Is Not Lost, a group show in Southwark Park's Gallery Cafe till 9pm.
Get Mouthy at Wellcome Collection with their gob-themed Late from 7-11pm (free but first come, first served).
The More London Free Film Festival closes with True Grit screening at 7.30pm at the Scoop.

Saturday:

Abundance Fruit Day is Chiswick's local harvest festival with the longest peel, apple bobbing, preserves a bicycle powered smoothie maker and much more, free between 11am-4pm.
The Major League Baseball roadshow parks up in Trafalgar Square from 11am-6pm to see if you can pitch or bat.
Venn Street Market, Clapham Common goes weekly as of today, between 10am-4pm.
Sleepover at Slumbarave, Hotel Elephant - party in your PJs. Tickets £5, 8pm-2am.
Watch out for the Shine Night Marathon crossing town overnight.
Stay up all night with a dance movie marathon at Roxy Bar and Screen as part of Scala Forever. Starts 11pm, tickets £15.

Sunday:

Send your kids down the Museum of Childhood with your parents for the free Grandparents Day family workshop between 11am-4pm.
Celebrate the last day of Elefest at the FLEE Market for artsy, fashion, vintage and flea Market shopping plus after party till late.
Take a free crash course on the East India Company with walks, talks, screenings, performance and more at National Maritime Museum, Greenwich to mark the opening of a new Traders gallery, between 11am-5pm.
Hildreth Street Market, Balham, goes monthly from today, between 11am-4pm.
The Horse and Groom pub in Shoreditch celebrates the launch of the Sunday Project, a sort of arty fashion marketplace plus DJ disco hangout afternoon and evening, free entry from 5pm-2am.
