Olympic Mascots Have Adventures In The Beano

Our mitten-handed, Hoxton-finned, one-eyed Olympic mascots appear in issue 3601 of The Beano this week, learning to swim.

It's the first story in a series of Beano adventures for Wenlock (orange stripes) and Mandeville (blue crotch) bringing Olympic and Paralympic sport to the kids.

They're also making their big screen debut in animated short Out Of A Rainbow, the trailer for which shows them being created from two drops of liquid steel on the Olympic construction site, explains how they got their names, has them respectively leaping off a diving board with (animated) Tom Daley and playing wheelchair basketball before saluting Buck House and dressing up as Beefeaters. And there's more. Watch out for it playing before family films at Odeon cinemas.

Download their first Beano story for free.
